Wild Card FLEUR DU SOLEIL makes the top price at the Purebred Arabian Sale
Taking place the day before the prestigious Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains and des Pouliches and in partnership with AFAC, the Purebred Arabian Sale offered a smaller amount of lots than in previous years. A total of 62% of the horses offered changed hands for an average of €67,260, generating a turnover of €3,497,500, also an historic figure for this sale.

Wild Card Fleur du Soleil makes the top price
Offered as a Wild Card and sold with an entry in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Juments (Gr.1 PA) on Saturday at Saint-Cloud, Fleur du Soleil (lot 70) was subject to a long bidding war around the ring. After having the final say at €300,000, Thierry Delègue (Pégase Bloodstock) signed the docket for the half-sister to Group 1 winner Methgal, offered from Madame Jean-François Bernard. The well-bred daughter of Munjiz is out of a sister to Group 1 winners EBRAZ, Mu’azzaz, Mared Al Sahra and Raahah.

Wathnan Racing very active around the ring
Bidding on behalf of Wathnan Stud, Alban de Mieulle went to €250,000 to secure Anouar (lot 96), a son of Al Tair from Haras de Victot. A winner of the Prix Djourman at La Teste last time, the half-brother to black-type winners Fee Al Maury and Fortuna Al Maury is from the family of Group PA winner AF Alghabra.
Very active around the ring on behalf of Wathnan Stud, de Mieulle bought 12 lots including the Wild Card Hazal (lot 75), from Madame Jean-François Bernard, a sister to Group PA winners Jarif and Arion, for which he signed the docket at €180,000.
Wild Card Jade de Faust makes €185,000
Also offered as a Wild Card, the Charles Gourdain-trained Jade de Faust (lot 65) was knocked down for €185,000 in favour of Ajmal Stud for Helal Alalawi. Group 3 PA placed this season, the daughter of Af Albahar is from the family of Group 1 winners Noreen, Nirwan, Mkeefa, Chaddad and Rajeh.
Overall, the horses-in-training section registered unparalleled results with 80% of lots changing hands for a record average of €113,375, generating a total turnover of €1,814,000.

Two-year-old section: a very dynamic market
The two-year-old section was subject to a lot of interest from buyers with nearly 74% of the lost offered changing hands for an historic average of €58,400, generating a total turnover of €1,46 million.
The top price went the way of Kayla de Carrere (lot 15), a sister to dual Group 1 PA scorer including the Arabian Trophy des Poulains, Hadi de Carrere, offered by Haras du Saubouas. Thierry Delègue (Pégase Bloodstock) had the final say at €280,000 for the filly, from the family of Group winners Bachar De Carrer and Al Hibaab.
