Albidayer Stud has an impressive reputation for breeding beautiful, typey and correct Arabian horses and their latest homebred stallion on the block is the dynamic Wahaj Albidayer. From the moment he was born, this captivating chestnut has captured the hearts of breeders and now, with his first foal crop on the ground, he is set to truly make his mark in the breeding world.
Wahaj Albidayer was foaled in 2016 and I was there at his debut presentation – this regal, confident colt piqued interest immediately as his sire was the late Versace, a globally-admired sire and one who truly made his mark on the world of Arabian horse breeding. Versace’s passing in 2008 left a huge hole but his is a legacy that lives on – especially through his sons, of which Wahaj Albidayer is one of the youngest and the brightest.
Maria Albidayer (Wahaj Albidayer x Madinah bint Saariyah)
Versace was by Fame VF (Bey Shah x Raffoleta-Rose) and out of Precious as Gold (El Shaklan x Autumn in Gold), and he was one of the most dynamic horses of his generation. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, owner and founder of Albidayer Stud, made the decision to breed Versace to a mare who is one of the jewel’s in the stud’s crown, Baila de Djoon OS. Baila de Djoon OS is by Ajman Moniscione (WH Justice x Anthea Moniscione) and out of Shak Shakira (ZT Shakfantasy x Praetoria) and this combination of Egyptian, Russian, Spanish, and Polish bloodlines all blend into Wahaj Albidayer’s pedigree, making him a unique and modern Arabian horse with the charisma of those horses that have gone before.

Wahaj Albidayer has been very lightly shown, once as a two-year old, where he won his class and subsequently took the Gold Junior Male Championship at the Emirates Arabian Horse Breeders Championship in the United Arab Emirates. As a three-year old, Wahaj Albidayer was privately tested on a number of Albidayer Stud mares, resulting in three exceptional fillies.
Wahaj Albidayer x Faridah Albidayer
Maria Albidayer is out of the classic and regal straight Egyptian mare, Madinah bint Saariyah (Imperial Madheen x PLF Saariyah). An elegant bay filly, Maria Albidayer oozes quality at a young age – just as her sire did as a foal. Two further fillies followed, as yet unnamed – one out of Faridah Albidayer (ex SC Venus), a daughter of the farm’s head sire Marajj (Marwan al Shaqab x RGA Kouress), and one from Basmah Albidayer (by Fadi al Shaqab) from the farm’s original foundation mare Bidayer (Emigrant x Eskalopka). This filly truly carries the heart of Albidayer Stud and she is one to watch.

Wahaj Albidayer is a breeder’s horse; he comes from a proven line of consistent and correct Arabians that also ooze type and character. He is, undoubtedly, an astute choice for breeders the world over, and his progeny so far underline the quality that he will produce.
