Celebrating the Champions – Elle Flamenca.
The next champion that we will celebrate is the very beautiful three-year-old filly, Elle Flamenca. Bred in the US by Joel Desmarteau of Markelle Arabians, who also bred Marajj, featured later in this piece, Elle Flamenca was purchased by the Dubai Stud in 2015 and she has continued to shine for them ever since.
Sired by Ajman Moniscione, the famed son of WH Justice (Magnum Psyche x Vona Sher-Renea) and out of the Padrons Ghibli (Padron x Santanas Delight) daughter, Anthea Moniscione (ex Armonia by Aktszn), Elle Flamenca has inherited the stallion’s striking looks and charisma. Ajman Moniscione is famed for putting pretty heads on to his progeny, and Elle Flamenca is no exception. Her dam, however, brings another beautiful, correct element to this lovely filly. A daughter of the world-famous Marwan Al Shaqab (Gazal Al Shaqab x Little Liza Fame), Allamara MA is out of RA Miss Siagon (Exceladdinn x Angophora), who brings in a further infusion of the Polish lines that cross so well with those of Gazal Al Shaqab (Anaza El Farid x Kajora). Interestingly, Elle Flamenca is very closely related to Marajj, as he is by Marwan Al Shaqab and out of the Angophora daughter, RGA Kouress, as you will read later.
From the moment that she was born, Elle Flamenca’s potential was recognised. It was Jeff and Sybil Collins that spotted Elle Flamenca first and it was with them that she began her show career. The highlight of this was, undoubtedly, winning a very strong two-year-old filly class at the Arabian Breeders’ World Cup in Las Vegas. Having shone in her class, this exquisite chestnut filly then danced her way to the title of Supreme Gold Junior Female Champion in Las Vegas, to the delight of all her connections.

The Dubai Stud very quickly realised the potential of this young filly, who is very European in style, and they purchased her for both their showing and breeding programme. Elle Flamenca’s first show for Dubai Stud was the 2015 All Nations’ Cup in Aachen, where she won her class and took the Silver Junior Female Championship title.
Now in her three-year-old year, Elle Flamenca has enjoyed a vibrant season. Her titles include the Silver Junior Female Championship at the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championships, and then Gold Junior Female Champion at the Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championships in Menton. From there, Elle Flamenca went to the All Nations’ Cup in Aachen, one of the toughest show-rings in Europe, and went one better than the previous year, adding the Gold All Nations’ Cup Junior Female Championship title to her name.
The Paris World Championships now beckons, and hopes will be high that Elle Flamenca will continue to shine there, not least as the Dubai Stud are regular winners of the Junior Female Championship with beauties such as FT Shaella (Shael Dream Desert x Soul Pretty TGS) and her daughter, D Shahla (by Marajj by Marwan Al Shaqab). Having placed third in her class last year, and just missed out on a championship placing, all eyes will be on this young chestnut filly, hoping that Elle Flamenca will continue the Dubai Stud’s success at this show. The Middle Eastern season then beckons in early 2017, and then, no doubt, the breeding barn; it will be interesting to see how this lovely filly produces, and just who the Dubai Stud will breed her to.
There is no doubt that the dance of Elle Flamenca so far has been a beautiful one, and one that people will continue to enjoy watching for many years to come.
