It has been one year since we tragically lost our friend, Ryan.
We wanted to update you on the fundraiser, which so far has raised over £19,000 to help continue Ryan’s legacy.
The bulk of this has been spent on three specially designed solid bronze trophies, generously made for The Ryan Jones Memorial Fund by J Anne Butler. These two trophies are breath-taking from what have seen, and we look forward to sharing these with you when the time is right.
Anne has also made a trophy for a Young Handlers Award, and we were all set to launch this at the end of March – and then lockdown happened, putting a pause on all our plans.
Going forward, we are in the process of setting up a Young Handlers Award Sub Committee to run this part of Ryan’s memorial. We are looking for those who Ryan helped to mentor up and coming youngsters, and also someone to oversee the scheme. If you are interested, then please contact us.
The trophies are safely with Anne in the US and with the pressure off, she is perfecting these to be sure that they are fitting for Ryan’s memory.
The fund is still open, and all monies in it will go to furthering the Young Handlers Award scheme.
The Trust fund, set up for Ryan’s two daughters, is separate to this, with the monies being held until Zara and Rhianna reach 21 years of age.
On behalf of Sue, Emrys, Rod, and Rhiannon, we would like to thank you all for your support over the last year.
