Italy’s capital is the last European destination of the 2024 Tour before heading back to the Middle East for the final, taking place in Riyadh this November.

The Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT) is delighted to announce its highly anticipated arrival in Rome on 6-7 September for the sixth stage of this seven-part, world-renowned series.

Held in the historic and culturally rich backdrop of Circus Maximus, this prestigious event will bring together the finest Arabian horses from around the globe to compete and showcase their elegance in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The GCAT is a premier series that celebrates the beauty and heritage of purebred Arabian horses. Attracting top breeders and trainers, they will present their horses to a panel of 20 esteemed judges from all over the world, vying for the prestigious championship titles, ranking points and a share of the purse.

Each stage of the tour has witnessed remarkable performances, and Rome promises to be no exception. The prize fund for this stage alone amounts to over €1,000,000, with bonus prize money at the end of the season for the leading female, leading male, leading handler, and overall leading horse.

Currently in the lead after five exceptional events throughout the Middle East and Europe, is Dubai Arabian Horse Stud’s D Borkan (FA el Rasheem x D Ajayeb) in the male ranking with a total of 88 points, followed closely by stablemate D Shakhar (D Shakhat x D Shamkhah) with 81 points and Al Saqran Stud’s E.S. Harir (AJ Dinar x TF Magnums Magic) with 80 points.

AJ Kayya (AJ Kafu x Aja Caprice), bred and owned by Ajman Stud, UAE, remains unbeaten in the Tour to date and sits at the top of the female leaderboard on 100 points following five gold championship titles. Dubai Stud, UAE, fillies D Nafayes (D Seraj x D Danat) and D Najlah (D Seraj x Elle Flamenca) are in second and third places, with 94 and 91 points, respectively.

Italy’s Paolo Capecci is heading up the handler leaderboard with 276 points, having secured multiple championship wins with the top three leading males and two of the top three leading females. Glenn Schoukens, Belgium, maintains his position at number two with 251 points, closely followed by Raphael Curti, France, with 245 points.

Enhancing the experience, the GCAT will host an exclusive village showcasing an array of local and international brands. The show starts at 11.30am on 6 September and from 1pm on 7 September, when the champions will be crowned and the new leading horses and leading handler of the 2024 tour will be revealed. Admission to the show is free for spectators, with limited hospitality packages available on request.
