Purebred Arabian Sale 2018

131 horses in training, broodmares, 2yos etc. to go under the hammer

Taking place during an exceptional week of racing, and just a few days before the Qatar Arabian World Cup, the Purebred Arabian Sale will take place on October 4 at Saint-Cloud Racecourse.

Organised in partnership with AFAC, the catalogue comprises a total of 131 lots, of which 58 two-year-olds, 41 horses-in-training, 17 broodmares, eight yearlings, six endurance three-year-olds, as well as one foal. For the first time this year, endurance horses have been integrated into all the various sections of the catalogue.

Two-Year-Olds

Of the 58 two-year-olds that open the sale, several established stallions are represented, including top sire Amer, as well as Azadi, Dahess, General, Madjani, Mahabb, Majd Al Arab, Munjiz and No Risk Al Maury.

Haras de Saint-Faust will offer the biggest consignment made up of 12 colts and fillies including:

  • Lot 30, a half-sister by No Risk Al Maury to CAMBRYDGE, winner of the Prix Damas (Gr.3 PA) and Group 1 PA placed.

  • Lot 46, a half-sister to triple Groupe 1 PA winner SAHIB DU CLOS, including the Al Maktoum Challenge R1 and the Al Maktoum Challenge R2, by No Risk Al Maury

 

Managed by Paul Basquin, Haras du Saubouas will send eight two-year-olds through the ring:

  • Lot 5, a daughter of OCYRRHOE, the French Arabian Breeders’ Cup Challenge (Gr.1 PA) winner, by Azadi.

  • Lot 26, a half-sister to TELJA DE BOZOULS, 3rd in the CEI* 80km at Vaissac this year.

  • Lot 51, the second foal out of Groupe 1 PA scorer KISS DE GHAZAL by Dahess.

Yann Creff also consigns eight juveniles including:

  • Lot 42, a half-sister by Dahess to Group 1 PA winner GHAZWA.

  • Lot 47, a daughter of Dahess out of dual Group 2 PA scorer JADE DU PAON that has already produced the very talented MEYDAN DU PAON and DIVA DU PAON.

 

Five colts and fillies come under the Ecurie d’Ossau banner, of which:

  • Lot 33, a half-brother to the Group PA winning stallion DIVAMER by Dahess.

  • Lot 35, a half-sister by Majd Al Arab to Prix Manganate (Gr.1 PA) winner KHATAAB and DJELAMER, victorious at Groupe 3 PA level.

Haras de Mandore is represented by three two-year-olds including:

  • Lot 29, a daughter of General out of dual French Arabian Breeders’ Cup Classic hero CHERAZADE, who has already produced the very talented CHEKER, MUNZADE and KERCHERA.

  • Lot 41, a half-brother by Munjiz to Group 3 PA winner AHZAR, that also finished second in the Za’abeel Int’l Stakes (Gr.1 PA) this year.

Also of note in the two-year-old section:

  • Lot 7, a half-sister by Nizam to AL MAMUN MONLAU, the triple Group 1 PA winner including in the Dubai Kahayla Classic, offered from Haras de l’Abbaye.

  • Lot 22, a son of General out of Group 1 PA victor ANASTASYA, that has already produced Coupe de France des Chevaux Arabes (Gr.1 PA) winner DUBAI HEROS, from Haras du Berlais.

Breeding Section

The sale continues with the breeding section made up of 32 lots including 17 broodmares offered in foal to leading stallions, including:

  • RAHDHA (lot 63), a daughter of Amer and Group 1 PA winner AMSARA D’AROCO, offered by Haras de Thouars in foal for the first time to Tm Fred Texas.

  • DESIRAMA (lot 65), a daughter of Darike that has already produced Listed and Group PA placed MY FIRST GENERAL, offered in foal to Al Mourtajez by Haras du Grand Courgeon.

  • DYALA (lot 66), a daughter of Amer, a sister to Group 1 PA victor LAHOOB, consigned by Haras de Thouars in foal to Aim South.

  • DIVINE CLASS (lot 70), a daughter of Akbar and a half-sister to Group 2 PA ROYAL CLASS and PETITE CLASS, the dam of this year’s The President Cup (Gr.1 PA) victor AL ZAHIR. She’s offered by Haras du Saubouas in foal to Al Mourtajez.

  • MANADE ATHBAH (lot 73), a daughter of Group 1 PA placed Khoutoubia in foal to Nashwan Al Khalidiah from Haras de Rabodanges.

Eight yearlings will also go under the hammer including:

  • Lot 81, a daughter of Group 1 placed ALLEZ FRANCE by Dahess from the family of multiple Group 1 PA winner AL DAHMA, from Haras du Berlais.

  • Lot 83, the first foal by Dahess out of a sister to DORMAH DE BRUGERE and DORMADORA, both Group 2 PA winners, from Haras du Saubouas.

Of the six endurance breds at the end of the section, of note:

  • FANNY DE PALMAS (lot 86), a daughter of Manifik and also a grand-daughter CEI3* 160km winner VENUS DE MARJOLAINE, offered by Haras du Mazet.

  • FIFTEENTH DE SOMMANT (lot 88), a half-sister to CEI* performers or higher, KEFIR DE SOMMANT, THALIA DE SOMMANT, OHWEE DE SOMMANT and RUM WADI DE SOMMANT, consigned by Elevage de Sommant.

  • FUREUR LA MAJORIE (lot 90), a daughter of CEI3* placed OUAHIDA EL NUMIZKI from Haras de la Majorie.

Horses-In-Training

With 41 lots, the horses-in-training for racing and endurance section closes the sale. Several talented performers from top stables are catalogued, such as Damien de Watrigant, Didier Guillemin, Elisabeth Bernard, Philip Sogorb and Thomas Fourcy:

  • FANTASIA AL MAURY (lot 117), a daughter of Burning Sand on the up. This four-year-old has been in the money on her last four starts, most recently winning at Pompadour for Damien de Watrigant over 1700m.

  • Also from Damien de Watrigant, AHZAR is lot 118. Very consistent at the highest level, this son of Munjiz most recently finished second in the Za’abeel Int’l Stakes (Gr.1 PA) at Newbury, where he was only beaten by the very talented AL CHAMMY.

  • EIMAN DU LOUP comes from Endo Botti as lot 124. Very progressive, this sister to Group 1 PA placed OLEYA DU LOUP finished third in the Hatta Int’l Stakes (Gr.1 PA) over 2000m at Newbury on his first try at this level.

Three Wild Cards will also be revealed in this section.
