Jalisco was imported in utero in 1991 from the world famous Om El Arab by Ian and Karen Needham. He was by Sanadik El Shaklan (El Shaklan x Mohena) and out of Bint Jacio (Jacio x Niharra).

His in-hand career did not start until a few years later when he was purchased by Alf Hallworth. Shown by Bill Gore, the partnership had great success with wins including Haydock Park, Cheshire County, Newark and Notts, North West and the Northern Groups Junior Male Championship.

After winning Haydock Park again as a four-year old, ‘Arnie’ came to live with us as our future ridden stallion. He took to his ridden work like a duck to water and immediately became a major force, winning and taking championships at regional groups ranging from Haydock Park and Linconshire and East Midlands to South East Region along with The Royal, Cheshire County and the Midland Counties. He was also twice Reserve British National Champion Ridden Stallion.

I think more important than this though, the 21 years he lived with us were an absolute pleasure. For me he was, and always will be, my great friend Arnie.
