In the 2023 Special Edition of The Arabian Breeders’ Magazine, we interviewed five artists from Poland.

Poland is synonymous with Arabian horses, not just through the breeders in the country, but through the many talented artists that live there. In The Arabian Breeders’ Magazine, we celebrate some of these artists, who help capture the heart of Poland through their brush. As we near the end of this feature, we look at the work of Sławomir Szereda.

My name is Sławomir Szereda, and I come from Poland. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, receiving my diploma in 1982.

Horses are the main subject of my works and I have been painting and drawing them for 50 years.

The Arabian horse first appeared in my art in the 1990s, and since then I have associated it with practicing my art.

I have made around 750 works, and it’s hard to say which of them are my favourites. In my works, I show horses of all breeds. However, most of the works I have created are portraits of Arabian horses as they captivate me with their beauty and character and are an inspiration for my works.

Quite an important event was the release of the album Konie rysowaneDrawn Horses – in 2019.

My dream is to have another solo exhibition and release another album with my works.
