It seems that 6 July was a day to remember for the wrong reasons for not only did Amir Jamaal pass away, as reported yesterday, but so did the beautiful black stallion Magic Dream CAHR. Both were sired by Ali Jamaal (Ruminaja Ali x Heritage Memory by El Magato), and there is something beautiful to be found through the sadness, in that these paternal half-brothers, one white, one black, went over Rainbow Bridge together on the same day.
Foaled on 18 June in 1992, Magic Dream CAHR was bred by JoAnne Campone in Canada. Out of The Dreamspinner (Aristo Kossack x Myrilinan Acledo by Gai-Adventure), the young Magic Dream was spotted while still a foal by US trainers Lisa Markley and Greg Knowles.
The Magic Dream Partnership was formed and the young colt moved to Scottsdale. It would be a few years later that, in 1999, Francisca Strydom from Strydom Arabians in South Africa first saw Magic Dream and she fell in love. Her husband, Tinus, was also impressed by Magic Dream when he first saw him in 2006 and two years later, this magnificent black stallion arrived in South Africa, where he would spend the rest of his days.
